Bubbling up out of New South Wales, Windwaker first landed in 2017 with their debut EP, “Fade” followed by their 2019 EP, “Empire.” In support of “Empire” they joined Beartooth on the road, while I Prevail tapped them for a 2022 run across Australia. I like the direction the band went on this record. They took the atmosphere of TDP, and made it grittier and dirtier - it's reminding me of bands like Deftones in the best possible way. There are a few tracks that I'm struggling to like, but even those have memorable moments that make me want to replay them again.
